Jerry Seinfeld teases “something” is happening regarding the series finale

Seinfeld remains one of the most popular sitcoms of all-time, but the series finale left something to be desired. After nine years of hilarious episodes, Seinfeld came to an end with Jerry (Seinfeld), Kramer (Michael Richards), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and George (Jason Alexander) being sentenced to a year in prison. However, “something” seems to be brewing regarding the Seinfeld finale.

During a stand-up set in Boston, Jerry Seinfeld was asked what he thought of the finale. Instead of answering the question, Seinfeld said, “Well, I have a little secret for you about the ending. But I can’t really tell it. Because it is a secret. Here’s what I’ll tell you, okay, but you can’t tell anybody. Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending. It hasn’t happened yet.” Seinfeld added, “And just what you are thinking about, Larry and I have also been thinking about, so you’ll see… you’ll see.

As to what this “something” could be, your guess is as good as mine. A reunion? A revival? An extra scene? A Super Bowl commercial? Seinfeld’s comments suggest that series co-creator Larry David is also involved in whatever this is.

The Seinfeld gang have reunited before, most notably on Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. The seventh season of the HBO series involved a multi-episode arc in which David got the cast back together to craft a new series finale. It was arguably the best way to go about it, as it allowed the cast to have a bit of fun while also giving fans portions of a brand-new Seinfeld episode. The show-within-a-show revealed that Elaine had a daughter, with Jerry as the sperm donor, and that George had made a fortune developing iToilet, an app which directed users to the nearest acceptable public restroom, but lost it all in the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme.

What did you think of the Seinfeld finale? What are you hoping this “something” turns out to be?
