With so many tentpole releases departing their release dates amid the coronavirus pandemic, one has to question if WONDER WOMAN 1984 will actually stick to its June 5, 2020 planned release. Warner Bros. seems to be offering fans a glimmer of hope by releasing three new posters for the film & they all maintain the film's planned release date.
The new motion poster features Gal Gadot in a gold suit of armor and she has never looked more heroic as the title character. The poster features a profile shot of Diana in her armor, which shows that her helmet is modeled after an eagle.
Many fans have been posting the images on line with the caption “84 days to go” and a part of me believes that Warner Bros. wouldn't release all this promo art if they didn't plan on keeping their release date, despite the growing coronavirus concerns. Moviegoing is definitely going to slow down after this weekend since several big films left the release schedule beginning with A QUIET PLACE: PART II next week. As of now, BLACK WIDOW remains on the schedule for May 1 & no decision has been made about rescheduling film. WONDER WOMAN 1984 may be far enough into the upcoming months that the studio feels confident the situation will see some kind of resolution before they open their film.
Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, WONDER WOMAN 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord and Natasha Rothwell. As of now, and I'm crossing my fingers, the film hits screens on June 5, 2020.
