Another remake for you all to jump with joy about! This time it's the 1971 cult classic SEE NO EVIL, which starred Mia Farrow as a blind woman who finds herself stalked by a lunatic. Sony's genre label (and all around schlock-producer) Screen Gems is developing the project, which Mike Scannell is writing. Unbroken Pictures’ Bryan Bertino (THE STRANGERS) and Adrienne Biddle will produce.
The original film told the story of…
a young woman (Mia Farrow), blinded in a horse-riding accident who, while convalescing in a mansion belonging to her uncle (Robin Bailey) is terrorized by a psychopath (Paul Nicholas) who murders her uncle, her aunt, and her cousin.
This should make for a nice companion piece with Mike Flanagan's HUSH. Or, of course, the ultimate blind-woman-in-danger movie, WAIT UNTIL DARK. (Where's that remake already?)
Scannell and Unbroken Pictures are also prepping HE'S OUT THERE, which is set to be directed by LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT's Dennis Illiadis.
