Arnold Schwarzenegger’s post-political film career hasn’t really gone as well as many had hoped, so you can hardly blame him for returning to the roles audiences loved in the past. Unfortunately I’m still waiting to get excited about TERMINATOR: GENISYS as everything that we've seen so far hasn’t really justified why they’re taking another trip down Terminator Avenue. For money you say? Ah, gotcha.
There's still time to get excited about the film however, Empire Magazine’s May issue will feature a large spread on the film and several images from the feature, in addition to the cover, have already been released. Check them out!
I’m not sure why but the image of that T-800 awkwardly positioned on the steering wheel makes me laugh. Hopefully that’s not indicative of what my feelings towards the completed film will be. I want to be excited about TERMINATOR: GENISYS, I really do, but I'm not quite there yet.
The TERMINATOR: GENISYS synopsis:
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…
TERMINATOR: GENISYS hits theaters on July 1, 2015.
Despite the lackluster marketing campaign, are you excited to see Arnold back as the Terminator once again?
