GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is easily one of the most anticipated movies of the year, not just from this writer and the Joblo staff, but the whole world. Who isn’t going to turn out for this movie? Baby Groot alone has the overly-emotional teens and cat ladies locked up. But if you aren’t already desperately excited director James Gunn is trying to persuade you by giving us a glimpse into the production of one of cinema’s most important elements: music.
The director took to his Instagram account to let everyone know he will using Facebook live to let audiences see a live recording of the new movie's soundtrack, which will be done by the first movie’s composer, Tyler Bates. Have a look at all those talented nerds below!
As stated in the caption Gunn will try to begin recording the session sometime between 8-8:30 PST, but he may not be able to guarantee a precise time. No word on how long Gunn plans on recording, but it will give people with little money a chance to gather around and claim they have gone to the symphony for a spot of culture.
The first GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY movie was known more for its use of classic pop-culture hits than its own score, but Bates still did a great job of giving the movie a fun sound. Now we have a chance to see what kind of direction VOL.2’s score will be going in, which isn’t a glimpse into the movie-making process we don’t get very often. You have no idea how lucky you are!
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 hits theaters May 5 with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Kurt Russell and so many more.
