A new trailer for WINTER'S TALE has landed, and Warner Bros. should really just call the film, "COLIN FARRELL IS SAD AND IN LOVE." ABOUT LAST NIGHT and ENDLESS LOVE open on February 14th as well (and ROBOCOP will hit theaters two days earlier), however I feel like WINTER'S TALE is going to be the big Valentine's Day date movie this year. It's one of those movies that'll probably get destroyed by critics, but do very well at the box office.
Love And Stuff
Synopsis:
Set in a mythic New York City and spanning more than a century, "Winter's Tale" is a story of miracles, crossed destinies, and the age-old battle between good and evil. The film stars Colin Farrell ("Total Recall"), Jessica Brown Findlay (TV's "Downton Abbey"), and Oscar® winners Jennifer Connelly ("A Beautiful Mind"), William Hurt ("Kiss of the Spider Woman"), Eva Marie Saint ("On the Waterfront") and Russell Crowe ("Gladiator"). "Winter's Tale" also introduces young newcomers Ripley Sobo and Mckayla Twiggs (both from Broadway's "Once"). The film marks the directorial debut of Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman ("A Beautiful Mind"), who also wrote the screenplay, based on the acclaimed novel by Mark Helprin.
What's my opinion on WINTER'S TALE? I will say I'm a big Colin Farrell fan and Russell Crowe should be excellent as the villain, but the trailers haven't done anything for me, and I just don't think the upcoming film looks that great. Maybe I'll be surprised and it'll be a decent flick, but right now I'm not sold on WINTER'S TALE. Most of you probably aren't either, but if you have a significant other, there's a very good chance you'll be seeing this in a couple of weeks.
WINTER'S TALE will be in theaters on February 14th, 2014.
