Sean Penn torn between Mars and family in new trailer for Hulu’s The First

Sending humans to Mars will be no small task, but if we're lucky, we'll get to witness NASA doing just that in our lifetime. Meanwhile, we'll have to make due with fictional expeditions to Mars, the latest of which will be found in The First, an upcoming eight-episode Hulu drama series which stars Sean Penn. The First will find Penn leading an ensemble cast in a near-future story about a crew of astronauts attempting to become the first humans on Mars. Under the direction of visionary aerospace magnate Laz Ingram (Natascha McElhone), the crew contends with peril and personal sacrifice as they undertake the greatest pioneering feat in human history. The latest trailer for the series definitely strikes a somber tone, but it looks full of potential and I'll definitely be checking it out. What do you folks think?

All eight-episodes of The First will debut on Hulu on September 14, 2018.
