Some fun news coming out of Comic-Con right now as Sam Raimi has taken the stage to share two very cool bits of news. You read the headline…you know what's up! That's right! Sam Raimi is set to produce an adaptation of THE LAST OF US videogame and, possibly even cooler, he's working with his brother Ivan on writing a television series based on THE EVIL DEAD! How cool is this?
In a surprise announcement at San Diego Comic Con, Raimi shared that he and his brother Ivan are writing a show based on the franchise, and that it will star Bruce Campbell. Right now this news is still developing, but it's enough to get us stoked.
We also got some news about the film adaptation of 2013 game THE LAST OF US as Raimi shared that "Naughty Dog" creative director Neil Druckmann would be working the script. Raimi also revealed one potential casting choice: Maisie Williams, better known as Arya on HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones". Druckmann and Raimi stressed that they'd only met with Williams and that talks are still very early, but the news is apparently solid enough to announce in a panel. No word yet on which character Williams would play, but we can assume she'll tackle the role of Ellie, a young survivor of the zombie apocalypse.
More on these awesome announcements as we hear it, so keep checking in!
