“Frank Cross (Bill Murray) is an uncaring and unforgiving television executive whose live production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ is more important to him than any true meaning of Christmas,” says the film’s official synopsis. “Before the night is over, he’ll take a hilarious journey through his past and into the future to find redemption and put a little love in his heart.”
Scrooged is an annual watch for me during the holidays, alongside films like Die Hard, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Trapped in Paradise, Krampus, Jingle All the Way, Home Alone, and Trading Places. I can’t wait to secure a copy of the Scrooged 35th Anniversary 4K UD Edition on Blu-ray. It’s my favorite version of Dickens’s classic tale after Brian Henson’s The Muppet Christmas Carol. For me, no holiday is complete without watching Murray’s Frank Cross discover the true spirit of Christmas, after getting his ass kicked by a bunch of ghosts, of course!
