As many of you know who frequent this site, I was (and admittedly still am) a big fan of MTV's recently rebooted SCREAM: THE TV SERIES. In fact, I was such a fan of the series that I keep up with all of the show's alumni in hopes they join projects I'm actually interested in watching.
And oo de lally, today we have just such news!
It seems that SCREAM: THE TV SERIES' lead heroine, Willa Fitzgerald will be playing yet another character named Emma – who gets stalked by yet another killer – in the new horror-thriller co-written and produced by Matt Simon. But thankfully for her, this time Fitzgerald will be dealing with the pesky killer at a much more relaxing locale…
Jason Saltiel co-writes and directs BEACH HOUSE, which follows
Emma (Fitzgerald), whose quiet beach retreat takes an unsettling turn with the arrival of an enigmatic artist from her mother’s past, Paul (Bartlett). Paul challenges, enthralls, and frightens her, as she comes to suspect him of a terrible crime.
I know I'll be there once the film hits this June. Hell, take away this connection to SCREAM and I'd still be down for the film. Something about the title BEACH HOUSE already has me interested, if for no other reason that I can just picture it as an old-school R.L. Stine FEAR STREET book. And that's a good thing!
Archstone Distribution has picked up the worldwide distribution rights to the film which co-stars include Murray Bartlett, Orlagh Cassidy, and Tom Hammond. Andrew van den Houten and Ben Barenholtz are executive producers. Archstone plans to release the thriller in theaters June 22.
I knew it!
