Scream Factory reveals Squirm Blu-ray art

Earlier this month we got the fantastic news that none other than Scream Factory would be releasing a Collector’s Edition of Jeff Lieberman's 1976 cult classic SQUIRM on Blu-ray, and today they have unveiled their newly-designed artwork for the release and it’s pretty awesome. Paul Shipper—who just recently designed the upcoming HALLOWEEN: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION set—is the mad man behind the artwork. The original Drew Struzan theatrical one-sheet design will also be available on the reverse side of the wrap for those of you who prefer the original look. Keep an eye out for special features and a release date later this summer!

Here's the synopsis:

When a powerful storm knocks Fly Creek, Georgia's power lines down onto wet soil, the resulting surge of electricity drives large, bloodthirsty worms to the surface and out of their soil-tilling minds. The townspeople soon discover that their sleepy fishing village is overrun with worms that burrow right into their skin. Inundated by hundreds of thousands of carnivorous creatures, the terrorized locals race to find the cause of the rampage before becoming tilled under themselves.
