The fine folks over at Scream Factory, the leading curator and home entertainment provider of many memorable cult movie classics, are at it again, announcing several new titles and sharing some updates on their upcoming 2015 releases, and we've got all the details you need to know below!
Scream Factory took to their Facebook to share some updates on some previously announced titles, dishing out the news that extras on 1989's Robert Englund-starring PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will be announced later this month and that bonus features on their release of 1980's NEW YEARS EVIL will be announced on (you guessed it!) New Years Eve.
It was also shared that Scream Factory's Collector's Edition release of Neil Marshall's DOG SOLDIERS, which was originally planned for a 2014 Summer release last year but was delayed, will finally arrive on March 10. A full list of extras will be announced in January.
INVADERS FROM MARS, GHOULIES / GHOULIES II double feature, CARRIE / THE RAGE: CARRIE II double feature and CLASS OF 1984 (Collector's Edition) are all planned for April at this time (but subject to change).
Now let's get on to the new title annoucements, shall we? This is pretty exciting news for fans of Italian-made exploitation flicks as on March 3 2015 Scream Factory will be bringing us a double feature of Giuliano Carnimeo's 1983 post-apocalyptic flick EXTERMINATORS OF THE YEAR 3000 and Bruno Mattei's 1995 shark thriller CRUEL JAWS.
Carnimeo's EXTERMINATORS OF THE YEAR 3000 has the following synopsis:
In a post-apocalyptic future where the earth is a desert and water is the most precious substance of all, a band of survivors must turn to a mysterious stranger to battle a ruthless gang of motorcycle psychos for control of the wasteland and the water. A glorious crash of guns, nuclear fallout, and synthesizers make this a must-see for anyone who’s been longing for the day in which they can finally get beyond Thunderdome.
Then, just when you thought it was safe to go back into your living room, it’s time for 1995’s CRUEL JAWS, which concerns…
When a tiger shark threatens the small coastal town of Hampton Bay, it’s up to the local sheriff, a shark expert, and an amusement park owner to stop the finned fiend from destroying the tourist trade and eating up any more of the town’s small population. Sound familiar? Trust us, you’ve never seen a fish story told as Cruel-ly as this!
On March 10 2015 Scream Factory will unleash the action-packed creature feature film DARK HAUL, which recently premiered on the Syfy network, on both Blu-ray and DVD. The film stars Tom Sizemore (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN), Evalena Marie, Rick Ravanello, Anthony Del Negro, Adrienne LaValley (INSIDIOUS) and Kevin Shea (DEAD SOULS).
The meaning of a cryptic prophesy divides a team of secretive guardians as they attempt to transport a deadly creature and its half-human sister in an 18-wheeler truck to a more secure location. But a hidden agenda undermines their mission, releasing the beast, and they end up battling for the fate of the world when the true meaning of the prophecy is discovered.
