If you’re trying to avoid SPOILERS when it comes to the new Scream movie, you should turn away now, because we’ve got some in this article involving a new image.
Industry insiders were predicting that the new Scream movie would have an opening weekend box office haul somewhere in the range of 35 to 40 million dollars over the four day holiday weekend, and those predictions were pretty close, as Variety reports that the film opened at #1 with $34 million. With so many people having already seen the movie, Skeet Ulrich apparently felt safe to give away the fact that he does reprise the role of Billy Loomis in the film. On his Instagram account, he posted a couple behind-the-scenes pictures that show him hanging out with co-star Melissa Barrera and directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett:
Of course, Billy Loomis was left very dead at the end of the original Scream, but he makes some ghostly appearances in the new film because he happens to be the father of one of the lead characters.
This Scream “legacy-quel” was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Vanderbilt also produced the film for Project X Entertainment, alongside Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena serve as executive producers alongside original Scream writer Kevin Williamson.
The film has the following synopsis:
Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
