If we were able to go back in time a year and change and notify our slightly younger selves that not only has ANT-MAN been receiving positive pre-release buzz but that folks are actually now looking forward to the film, we'd laugh in our own faces. Marvel's conclusion to Phase 2 of their Cinematic Universe has endured more than its fair share of criticism thanks in part to Edgar Wright's highly publicized departure from the film, but we've heard some very positive things in these past few weeks. Lets hope that positive momentum continues.
Marvel has released a brand new clip from ANT-MAN which shows our hero Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) engaging in some decidingly non-heroic activities.
Based on this short clip it's easy to see why Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) decides to mentor Scott Lang; he's intelligent, works quickly to overcome obstacles, and looks like a perfect fit for the Ant-Man suit. I was never opposed to ANT-MAN, even after Edgar Wright's departure, but I wasn't exactly excited about it either; however I slowly began to come around with each small bit of media that Marvel released and I've got high hopes that ANT-MAN will be, if nothing else, a fun time in the theater.
ANT-MAN opens on July 17, 2015.
