Scott Glenn joins Daredevil series as Matt Murdock’s mentor

The anticipation for Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix continues to grow as the series begins to fill in key roles; and today’s news is no exception. The last casting news was that Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) will be playing Karen Page, which is awesome. Now it’s confirmed that Scott Glenn (THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, THE RIGHT STUFF) will be joining the series as Stick, Matt Murdock’s mentor. You may have recently had the pleasure of watching Glenn chew some scenes in HBO’s The Leftovers which wrapped up its first season this month.

Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television said earlier today:

“Stick is one of the most important figures in Matt Murdock’s life and Scott Glenn embodies all the qualities of someone so integral to this hero’s journey. There are few actors who could bring such the authenticity, gravitas and charisma to such a key role in Matt’s journey to become the super hero we call Daredevil.”

Daredevil will star Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) as Murdock/Daredevil, along with Elden Henson (Pollux in THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY) as Murdock’s best friend and legal partner Foggy Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio is Kingpin, and Rosario Dawson who has an unknown pivotal role on the show.

Is the casting of Scott Glenn on the money or what? Who did you have in mind to take on the mentor role?

Daredevil will premiere on Netflix in 2015.
