Well, this is surprisingly big news coming out of the mysterious upcoming Hulu series CASTLE ROCK, from the minds of Stephen King and J.J. Abrams. It was just the other day we shared the word that the new series will feature at least one Castle Rock story, and I ventured the guess that said story would be NEEDFUL THINGS.
Turns out I might be (kinda) right as veteran genre actor Scott Glenn (THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS) has joined the cast as Alan Pangborn.
Pangborn for those who might not be overly familiar is the sheriff from NEEDFUL THINGS (played in the film version by Ed Harris) and THE DARK HALF (played by Michael Rooker).
In the upcoming series Pangborn will be "a retired Sheriff who presided over some of the darkest years in Castle Rock’s checkered history" and boy are they not kidding when they say the darkest years. Scott joins the already announced cast including Andre Holland, Sissy Spacek, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy and Bill Skarsgard.
What do you think of Scott Glenn joining CASTLE ROCK as (retired) Sheriff Alan Pangborn? Think this means we'll be seeing more and more famous Castle Rock characters getting in on the mix?
