Scott Eastwood is in talks to join Pacific Rim 2

Just hours after the announcement that the sequel to Guillermo del Toro's 2013 kaiju vs. robots film PACIFIC RIM will be reaching theatres on February 23, 2018 comes word that Scott Eastwood is in talks to join John Boyega in the cast.

Details on Eastwood's potential character were not revealed, but is is known Boyega will be playing the son of the character played by Idris Elba in the first film.

PACIFIC RIM 2 is being directed by Steven S. DeKnight from a screenplay by JURASSIC WORLD writer Derek Connolly. Guillermo del Toro had originally intended to direct the sequel himself, but even though he has vacated the director's chair he does remain attached to the project as a producer.

Scott Eastwood has previously starred in several films directed by his father Clint, FURY, THE LONGEST RIDE, TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D, and the upcoming blockbusters SUICIDE SQUAD and FAST 8. He hasn't made much of an impression on me up to this point, but I would love to see him play a total badass on the level of some of his dad's iconic characters in PACIFIC RIM 2.
