Some minor, but awesome news regarding SINISTER director Scott Derrickson's upcoming thriller BEWARE THE NIGHT has come to our attention as Screen Gems has moved the film's release to a much sooner date. The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced supernatural thriller will now hit theaters almost a full six months sooner with its new release date of July 2nd, 2014.
This move shows some major confidence out of Screen Gems because the film will now go up against the summer movie competition—and as we all know, the horror genre doesn't always do the best during a summer run. THE CONJURING, however, nailed up some amazing numbers at the box office this past summer so perhaps Screen Gems is hoping for similar results with BEWARE THE NIGHT. Time will tell, folks! Either way, this means we get to see Derrickson's film much sooner than expected, so it's a win for horror fans!
BEWARE THE NIGHT is the story of a New York cop who meets a renegade priest when he is pulled into a case which the priest convinces him, against the officer’s religious beliefs, is demonic related. Together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them.
BEWARE THE NIGHT stars the previously announced Eric Bana, Joel McHale, Sean Harris and Olivia Munn.
