SINISTER director Scott Derrickson has stepped away from Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. Sam Raimi will be taking over. While it's sad to see Derrickson go, tonight a fan over on Twitter asked Derrickson if he'd be up for helming JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK.
Derrickson replied:
I’d do Constantine
Pardon the pun but Hell, yeah! How badly would you like to see Scott Derrickson's CONSTANTINE? Let us know below!
Based on the DC/Vertigo "Hellblazer" comics CONSTANTINE (2005) followed this synopsis:
As a suicide survivor, demon hunter John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) has literally been to hell and back — and he knows that when he dies, he's got a one-way ticket to Satan's realm unless he can earn enough goodwill to climb God's stairway to heaven. While helping policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) investigate her identical twin's apparent suicide, Constantine becomes caught up in a supernatural plot involving both demonic and angelic forces.
CONSTANTINE (2005) was directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay written by Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello based on John Constantine by Alan Moore, Stephen R. Bissette, Rick Veitch, and John Totleben. It starred Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, Rachel Weisz as Angela Dodson, Shia LaBeouf as Chas Kramer, Tilda Swinton as the Archangel Gabriel, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Father Hennessy, Djimon Hounsou as Papa Midnite, Gavin Rossdale as Balthazar, and Peter Stormare as Lucifer Morningstar. Warner Bros. Pictures released it back on February 18, 2005.
