The SINISTER and DOCTOR STRANGE duo of writer/director Scott Derrickson and co-writer C. Robert Cargill are currently hard at work crafting the superhero sequel DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, but they still managed to find some time to executive produce an entry in the Hulu / Blumhouse holiday-themed anthology series Into the Dark.
Derrickson and Cargill had a hand in this year's Valentine's Day offering MY VALENTINE, which marks the feature debut of writer/director Maggie Levin.
Set to reach the Hulu streaming service on February 7th, MY VALENTINE tells the story of
a pop singer whose songs and artistic identity have been stolen by her ex-boyfriend/manager and shamelessly pasted onto his new girlfriend/protégé. Locked together in a small concert venue after hours, the three of them confront the emotional abuses of the past… until things turn violent.
The film stars Britt Baron, Anna Lore, Benedict Samuel, Ally Maki, Sachin Bhatt, and Anna Akana. Levin previously directed Akana in 12 episodes of the web series Miss 2059.
I watch every Into the Dark movie, so I would be watching MY VALENTINE regardless, but the involvement of Derrickson and the plot synopsis make me especially interested in this one.
