Schwarzenegger and Hamilton reunited on the set of Terminator

A new TERMINATOR sequel, this one directed by DEADPOOL's Tim Miller and produced by franchise creator James Cameron, has been filming in Spain for a while, and though we've seen images of several of its stars – Linda Hamilton, back in the role of Sarah Connor; Mackenzie Davis as Grace, a soldier-assassin from the future; Natalia Reyes as heroine Dani; Gabriel Luna as a Terminator – there has been one major exception. We haven't seen any official shots or even spy pictures of Arnold Schwarzenegger on the set.

A few hours ago, a picture showed up on social media that gives us our first look at Schwarzenegger in makeup for the film, and it's a picture he released himself. A selfie he took with Hamilton and posted online to celebrate her birthday. Schwarzenegger paid tribute to her as "one of my favorite co-stars, a true badass, and a wonderful human being" and said he's "pumped to be back together again."

That was a nice thing for him to do for his friend and co-star, but we had to take notice of the wound makeup on Schwarzenegger's face. There has been speculation that he might be playing a human character in the new sequel, especially since he's sporting a beard in this one, but it looks like there are hints of metal showing through the cuts on his face…

The new TERMINATOR doesn't have an official synopsis, but is known that the screenplay that was crafted by Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, Billy Ray, and Justin Rhodes (working from a story by Miller and producer David Ellison) only acknowledges the events of the first TERMINATOR film and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY (pictured above). The ones Cameron was involved with.

Also in the cast with the actors mentioned above are Diego Boneta as Dani's brother and a pair of CGI stand-ins: Brett Azar will be standing in for a younger Schwarzenegger and Jude Collie will be standing in for Edward Furlong for the filming of scenes that take place during the time of T2.

The new TERMINATOR is scheduled to reach theatres on November 15, 2019.
