The good people at CBS Films released a brand new teaser poster for the upcoming SCARY STORIES adaptation, featuring a wicked creepy scarecrow stewing miserably in a corn field, his straw-filled chest all hollowed out.
An obvious nod to the "Harold" short story that appears in the book, it looks like at least one part of the film will feature the infamous homidical scarecrow peeling the flesh off of unlucky farmers, and anyone else foolish enough to cross his path.
SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK follows a group of young teens who must solve the mystery surrounding sudden and macabre deaths in their small town. Penned for the screen by Dan Hageman & Kevin Hageman from a story by del Toro, the cast includes Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur, and Natalie Ganzhorn. The film is produced by Guillermo del Toro, Sean Daniel, Jason F. Brown, J. Miles Dale and Elizabeth Grave.
SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK lands in theaters on August 9th, 2019.
