Since the first and fourth installments are already available in high-definition, it only makes sense that SCARY MOVIE 2 and SCARY MOVIE 3 are coming to Blu-ray. The latter will be available in an unrated cut. Lionsgate will release the films in 1080P on September 20.
Artwork and full specifications haven’t been announced, but both promise an assortment of special features including deleted scenes, featurettes and audio commentaries. It seems that all of the previous DVD features will be ported over.
SCARY MOVIE 2 is directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans (who also helmed the original). It stars Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Anna Faris (below), Regina Hall, Tori Spelling and Chris Elliott. Shorty and Ray are both tricked by their professor into visiting a haunted house as part of a school project. Cindy and Brenda join their peers for the “project.” When things start getting messy, the gang must work together to find a way to capture the ghostly menace.
SCARY MOVIE 3 is directed by David Zucker (AIRPLANE). It stars Anna Faris, Charlie Sheen, Simon Rex, Leslie Nielsen, Anthony Anderson, Kevin Hart and Regina Hall. A mysterious videotape is circulating around town, and whoever views the tape has seven days left to live. News reporter Cindy Campbell is next on the list, and tries to work out a way to prevent her death. Meanwhile, crop circles have also been appearing in the local farm, and Cindy suspects that both mysteries are linked. But can she make the connection before the world ends?
