Despite all of the hubbub that has surrounded the release of Rupert Sander's GHOST IN THE SHELL, I must admit that I am still very excited to see this film. As a long-time fan of Mamoru Oshii's original anime feature-film (as well as the several series that tie-in to the franchise) I'm anxious to see what elements of Oshii's vision have been kept for American audiences, but more so, what's been left out. Honestly, I'm hoping just to sit back and enjoy myself, and do my damndest to leave my more judgmental self back at home when I hit the theater for this one.
Today, we have a new clip to share with you, which depicts the moment in which Mokoto Kusanagi (Scarlett Johansson) wakes for the first time after being transformed into a cybernetic police agent. Understandably, she's a little upset. After all, it's not every day that you find out your bits were removed and replaced with a series of circuit boards and wires. That said, there are perks to becoming a crime-fighting robot, and I have no doubt that Kusanagi will learn to adjust to her new set of circumstances in due time.
