Last year, director/producer Aaron B. Koontz teamed with fellow filmmakers Courtney Andujar, Hillary Andujar, Anthony Cousins, Emily Hagins, Chris McInroy, Noah Segan, and Baron Vaughn to bring us the horror anthology Scare Package (watch it HERE), which our reviewer The Iceman called “one of the best times I’ve had all year” and gave a 9/10 review. Now Fangoria has gotten their hands on a video announcement that Koontz is now working on a sequel titled Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge, and it’s coming o Shudder!
The video announcement can be seen below, and it doesn’t give away very much because not even Koontz is able to say much about Scare Package II at this time. Speaking to Fangoria, he only said,
I can confirm that there is a sequel to Scare Package. I can also confirm that this video is indeed the announcement of said sequel. I cannot confirm, though, that Rad Chad may or may not be enacting some form of revenge. Shit, I think I’ve said too much.”
Beyond that statement, Koontz told Fangoria that there’s “an insane roster” of talent on board the sequel, which he said is “truly unlike any horror anthology ever made”. He also promised that Rad Chad’s Revenge will be packed with blood and practical makeup FX.
The first Scare Package was described as
a meta horror comedy anthology film where directors have selected a different horror sub-genre to showcase in a world where cell phones magically stop working and help is always a minute too late.
The wrap-around story was set at a video store called Rad Chad’s Horror Emporium, with Jeremy King playing the store’s owner, Rad Chad himself.
All of the segments for Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge have already been filmed. The film will be released through the Shudder streaming service sometime in 2022, and we’ll keep you updated on this one as its premiere date draws near and more information is revealed.
