Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Middle-earth: Shadow of War continues the original narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and expands upon the nemesis system established in the previous game. While a gameplay trailer will hit next month, we do have the announcement teaser that gives you a cinematic look at where the story is headed, as well as some of the enemies you can expect to encounter. The story for Shadow of Mordor was certainly nothing special, but the gameplay was fun and the nemesis system addicting. A sequel to the game felt like a bit of an inevitability, but I’m excited to see what directions Monolith can push the new one. The Lord of the Rings is a fascinating and expansive world, and much like STAR WARS, deserves a new game every year to help flesh it out. Granted, that’s not always the case, but I’m glad we’ll get another look with Shadow of War!
