I wouldn't have expected much from director Aneesh Chaganty's thriller SEARCHING, which told its story through the screens of laptops and phones, but its 93% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes indicates I should give it a chance. One positive write-up came from our own Chris Bumbray, who gave it an 8/10 in his review for the JoBlo Movie Network.
While I wait for SEARCHING to reach home video (it's set to reach DVD/Blu-ray on December 31st and can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK), the next film from its creative team is already moving forward.
American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson (pictured above) has signed on to star in Chaganty's RUN as
the mother of a teenage girl who has been raised in total isolation. The girl’s life begins to unravel as she discovers her mother’s sinister secret.
I'm already more interested in this one than I was in SEARCHING.
RUN is set to begin filming on October 31st. Chaganty will be directing the film from a screenplay he wrote with his SEARCHING co-writer Sev Ohanian.
Ohanian is also producing the film with Natalie Qasabian.
RUN will be distributed by Lionsgate, but a release date has not yet been announced.
