Sarah Gadon has wrapped work on Vampires vs. the Bronx

While at the Sundance Film Festival to promote her latest film BLACK BEAR, Lawrence Michael Levine's nightmarish-but-comedic drama co-starring Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott, actress Sarah Gadon sat down for an interview with Collider's Jeff Sneider, and during their conversation it was mentioned that she recently finished working on a film called VAMPIRES VS. THE BRONX.

A horror-comedy from Saturday Night Live director Oz Rodriguez, VAMPIRES VS. THE BRONX has the following synopsis:

When gentrification from an unlikely and deadly source creeps into the Bronx, a group of teenage friends rally to save the beloved local bodega and fight against a supernatural force intent on taking over their home at all costs.

The film was produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. Erin David, Bert Hamelinck, and Michael Sagol served as executive producers.

Gadon's VAMPIRES VS. THE BRONX co-stars include Chris Redd, The Kid Mero, Method Man, Shea Whigham, Vladimir Caamaño, Jaden Michael, Gregory Diaz IV, Gerald W. Jones III, and Coco Jones.

Gadon told Sneider, "I had so much fun making that movie with Oz and Chris Redd, who’s so funny," but kept details on her character under wraps.

Oddly, other sources say the film actually went into production in the summer of 2018, so I'm not sure why it brought up as something that Gadon just wrapped on. Reshoots? ADR? Either way, VAMPIRES VS. THE BRONX sounds like it could be fun, so it's nice to hear an update on its progress.

Gadon's previous credits include the Stephen King shows Castle Rock and 11.22.63, and she's no stranger to cinematic vampires: she was also in DRACULA UNTOLD.
