The new episode of our The Black Sheep video series doubles as a Christmas viewing recommendation, as we’re taking a look back at the 2005 horror comedy slasher Santa’s Slay (watch it HERE) – which stars professional wrestler Bill Goldberg as a very unpleasant Santa Claus. To find out all about the movie and why we think it deserves to be seen by more genre fans, check out the video embedded above!
Written and directed by David Steiman, Santa’s Slay has the following synopsis: It turns out that Santa Claus is not really the sweet old fellow that we all know and love. In fact, he’s a devil and the only thing that’s kept his bad side in check was a bet he lost with an angel. After 1000 years of playing nice, the bet is up and Santa is about to open up a can of Whoop-Ass! The only glimmer of hope come from an old man with a secret, his grandson and his girlfriend. Brace yourself for one really bad Santa, hell-bent on spreading holiday FEAR!
Goldberg is joined in the cast by Douglas Smith, Emilie de Ravin, Robert Culp, Dave Thomas, Saul Rubinek, James Caan, Rebecca Gayheart, Chris Kattan, Fran Drescher, Alicia Loren, Annie Sorell, Donna Zuk, Tom ‘Tiny’ Lister, Scott Francis Gibson, Jimmy Herman, Michael David Simms, Donald Bland, Kevin Gillese, Joan Dunham, and Kendall Garwryluk. Plus a couple of “Helldeer”.
The Black Sheep series features different takes on horror films that the masses or/and critics didn’t care for but that we found merit in. We defend horror movies that deserve more love!
