Sam Raimi brings horror to Quibi with teaser trailer for 50 States of Fright

The war of the streaming-services continues, and Quibi, the short-form streaming service founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, is one of the more unique services on the horizon. The service will deliver premium content in "quick bites" for viewing on the go, as each Quibi series will be around two to four hours in length, but will be divided into segments no longer than 10 minutes each. One of the many shows which Quibi will be delivering is 50 States of Fright, a horror anthology series executive produced by Sam Raimi. A short teaser trailer, and I do mean short, has been released which offers up a taste of the terrors Raimi has in store for us.

The first season of 50 States of Fright will tell stories which have been inspired by local urban legends all across America, "taking viewers deeper into the horrors that lurk just beneath the surface of our country." In addition to serving as executive producer, Sam Raimi also directed an episode, which he co-wrote with his brother, Ivan Raimi. Titled The Golden Arm, Raimi's short stars Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's) and Travis Fimmel (Vikings), and follows a man who marries a woman with a golden arm. After the wife passes away, her husband digs up her grave to steal the arm, only for the wife to return from beyond the grave to torment him.

50 States of Fright will debut when Quibi launches on April 6, 2020.
