Hold on to your butts, ladies and gentleman, because the news you’ve all been waiting for when it comes to the new JURASSIC WORLD movies is finally here. After wondering and waiting to see if it would ever actually happen, it’s been confirmed that the main trio from the original JURASSIC PARK – Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum – will be returning for the third entry in the new run of movies, JURASSIC WORLD 3.

The director of the threequel, Colin Trevorrow, revealed the news while at a screening of the new JW short, BATTLE AT BIG ROCK, hosted by Collider at the ArcLight in Hollywood last night. Of course, he didn’t get into any particulars of their returns, but he did say that they would have sizeable roles in the upcoming movie, placing them alongside returning stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
This will soothe jaded souls who were perhaps disappointed when Goldblum returned as Dr. Ian Malcolm for JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM for what was essentially a cameo at the beginning. As for stars Dern and Neill, their characters being Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, the two haven’t been part of the series since JURASSIC PARK III, which had the latter in the main role while former made a short appearance later.

The JURASSIC PARK twitter page confirmed the news as well, welcoming back the beloved doctors.
Trevorrow directed the first movie in the new series but stepped back for the sequel, all before coming back for the third movie, which he will write with Emily Carmichael. We don’t know much about the overall story, other than it will pick up where the last left off wherein all the dinosaurs were let loose and presumably left roaming free come JW3. Considering that's the basic premise, it’s only logical that the three actors would be reprising their roles. When dinosaurs are let loose on the whole world, wouldn’t it make sense for three people who have a lot of experience with this stuff to find their way into the adventure?
JURASSIC WORLD 3 is set for June 2021.
