Earlier this month, we brought you word that Ryan Reynolds is in talks to head into space with Rebecca Ferguson for Daniel Espinosa's LIFE, however his first post-DEADPOOL project will actually be HITMAN'S BODYGUARD, a "high octane action film" from KICK-ASS 2 director Jeff Wadlow and Millennium Films. Production is set to begin in a couple of months in London, and Deadline is reporting that Salma Hayek and Elodie Yung have signed on for the movie, joining Reynolds and the previously cast Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman.
HITMAN'S BODYGUARD will follow "the world’s top protection agent (Reynolds) who gets a new client: a hit man who came in from the cold (Jackson). They’ve been on the opposite ends of a bullet for years and hate each other. They become stuck together and have 24 hours to get to the Hague. They have to get past a murderous Eastern European dictator (Oldman), and all the bad guys he can throw at them." Wadlow will be directing the pic from a script by FIRE WITH FIRE writer Tom O'Connor, and filming will also take place in Amsterdam and Sofia.
I'm not expecting HITMAN'S BODYGUARD to break new ground for action flicks, but it sounds like it could be a fun movie, especially with the talent involved.
Yup, Salma Hayek has definitely still got it!
