WGN America's Salem, which entered its third season on November 2nd, has been burned at the stake. The witchcraft-filled show will be canceled by the network after this season concludes. Fortunately for fans of the show, creators Brannan Braga and Adam Simon were prepared for this eventuality. They said:
We knew this would be the third and final season and were able to craft an exciting climax to Mary’s transformational saga.
So, at the very least, there will be a satisfying end to the show unlike certain other series we could mention.
The third season of Salem dawns with the triumph of the witches’ plan to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and making Salem his capital. But the devil is a liar, and instead of a New World free from murderous Puritan hypocrisy, his own plan will bring nothing but death and slavery with the ultimate aim of leading humanity to destroy itself.
Salem stars Janet Montgomery, Shane West, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe, Tamzin Merchant, Elise Eberle, Iddo Goldberg, Joe Doyle, Oliver Bell, and Marilyn Manson as sinister barber/surgeon Thomas Dinley. Salem airs on Wednesdays at 9PM.
