Ryan Reynolds admits Blake Lively wrote some of his Deadpool jokes

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are probably some of the most likable celebrity married couples out there and the actor has just given us a reason to love them more. Reynolds has admitted that the actress has written some of his Deadpool jokes but hasn't received proper credit.

During an interview on Sirius XM's Town Hall, via "Entertainment Weekly", Reynolds discussed writing his movies. The actor mentioned that he does write a lot of his films and that Blake Lively has directly written some great things for him, including jokes used in Deadpool. Reynolds points to Hollywood sexism regarding the issue because, despite explicitly saying that she wrote something, she was never given credit:

"I write on a lot of my movies. It's been a survival mechanism for me for a long time. Sometimes I'm credited, sometimes I'm not… There's a lot of A++ writing that I've done that was actually Blake — that Blake would jump in, grab the keyboard, and 'What about this?' And I'd be like, 'That's incredible.' And you know, it's funny. I don't know. Maybe it's 'cause there's inherent sexism in the business — I will say that a lot of times, 'She wrote that — Blake like, wrote that not me. That was was her.' And it's like, they still, later on, repeat the story as I wrote it. So she's a really talented, multihyphenate kind of person in this, you know, weird burgoo [editor's note: stew] of an entertainment industry that we work in, and she's helped me so much — in Deadpool, all kinds of movies that have been big successes. She's always got a lot of bricks in that wall."

It really comes as no surprise to me that Lively has contributed some funny stuff for Ryan Reynolds to use. They constantly poke fun at each other on social media and interviews which shows that humor is a driving force as to why the relationship really works.  I think it's great that Reynolds is pointing out that she's bringing the jokes as much as he is but I'd also be curious to know what Deadpool jokes she actually wrote. This also isn't the first time I've heard that Lively has contributed a joke to a project or a funny improv. In A Simple Favor, the "Brother F*cker" line that she throws out towards Anna Kendrick's character was ad-libbed by her because Reynolds had recently worked with Samuel L. Jackson in The Hitman's Bodyguard and she wanted a line that sounded like something he would say. This little tidbit of info comes courtesy of being nerdy enough to actually listen to the audio commentary on the A Simple Favor Blu-ray.
