With GLEE coming to an end this season, creator Ryan Murphy looks to expand his anthology series roots even more. In addition to the recently announced spin-off AMERICAN CRIME STORY, FOX has ordered their own horror series from Murphy and AMERICAN HORROR STORY co-producer Brad Falchuk. FOX will air the 15-episode debut season of SCREAM QUEENS this fall.

Unlike AMERICAN HORROR STORY, SCREAM QUEENS is being billed as a "comedy-horror" show. What that means exactly is unknown, but we do know it will feature a season-long story like the FX series. The debut run will center on a college campus dealing with a serial killer. Murphy and Falchuk are currently having a nationwide casting search for two female leads and 10 supporting roles.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY as well as GLEE and Murphy's first FX series NIP/TUCK all share a very prominent sexual streak as well as a dark sense of humor. By calling SCREAM QUEENS a "comedy-horror" series, I would expect the show to feature more jokes and a fair amount of gore. Whether it is going to feel like Wes Craven's SCREAM or something more along the lines of SCARY MOVIE remains to be seen.
