Russos ask fans not to spoil Endgame following reports of leaked footage

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Avengers: Endgame, Marvel, spoilers

Earlier today reports began to surface with regard to AVENGERS: ENDGAME footage being leaked onto the internet ahead of the film's April 26 premiere. Naturally, an event such as this would cause aspects of the film to be ruined for fans of the franchise who've waited patiently for the Russo Brothers' grand finale to their highly-acclaimed Infinity Saga. Moreover, a leak of this magnitude would assuredly upset the talented men and women who've dedicated years of their lives to crafting a comic book-related event on the big screen unlike the world has ever seen. Don't we owe it to them to be cool about keeping our traps shut until, at the very least, the close of the film's opening weekend? In a perfect world, yes. However, we live in a time where certain individuals delight in ruining people's good time, and they've all got itchy Twitter fingers.

As part of thier effort to silence those who would spoil the film before fans have had their opportunity to experience it for themselves, Joe and Anthony Russo have once again taken to their various social media platforms to ask that fans not reveal the MCU-changing events of AVENGERS: ENDGAME before a considerate amount of time has passed.

Now, maybe it's because I'm pushing 39 and my eyes aren't what they used to be, but I can scarcely make out that Ant-Man-sized print. So, for the people who might need to schedule an eye exam, I've gone ahead and embiggened the image, and have copied its content word-for-word for what I feel is an easier read. You're welcome.

"To the greatest fans in the world,

This is it. This is the end. The end of an unprecedented narrative mosaic spanning eleven years and eleven franchises.

For all of you who have been on this journey with us since the very beginning, sharing every high and low with your family, your friends, your classmates, your co-workers,. Investing so deeply in every character and storyline. Laughing. Cheering. Shedding tears. Giving so freely of your thoughts and emotions in spirited dialogue, theories, fan art, and fan fiction. Please know that the two of us, along with everyone involved in Endgame, have worked tirelessly for the last three years with the sole intention of delivering a surprising and emotionally powerful conclusion to the Infinity Saga.

Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts, and your souls into these sotries, we're once again asking for your help.

When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don't spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn't want it spoiled for you.

Remember, Thanos still demands your silence.

As always, good luck and happy viewing …

Thankfully, my friends and I are booked and ticketed for an early Thursday screening of the film. I figured it would be my best chance to not get spoiled on the events to come, and I certainly won't be sharing any details related to the film until at least the following week – and even then only through private conversations. I respect all of the hard work that the Russos, the actors, and the rest of the Marvel family have poured into AVENGERS: ENDGAME, and in general, I'm not a monster. I suppose what I'm saying is, try to be cool, and before you go shouting spoilers from the rooftops, maybe pay a little consideration to your fellow fans. We've all been in this together for upward of eleven years, and the time is finally nigh to see how all of it will end. Brace yourselves, and let's go!
