The Warriors remake back in development?

Ya'll want a fun new rumor to sink your teeth into? Okay. Today we're hearing a rumor that says the remake of Walter Hill's THE WARRIORS is back in development. And for those of you that might not know, this is not the first time there have been talks of a remake of the film.

Back in 2005, director Tony Scott wanted to helm a remake set in modern-day New York City. After Scott's death, CRANK director Mark Neveldine showed interest in directing a remake. Hell, even AVENGERS: ENDGAME director Joe and Anthony Russo once said they were working with Paramount Television and Hulu for a re-imagined TV series.

Needless to say, none of those planned reboots and/or TV series ever saw the light of day (so far) so I'm thinking that neither will this new attempt. But I could be wrong. After all, I guess it really is just a matter of time before the Warriors hit the screen again… but I think a TV series from the directors of AVENGERS: ALL THE F*CKING MONEY IN THE WORLD is the best bet. 

The original film centered on:

A turf battle between New York City street gangs that rages from Coney Island to the Bronx. The Warriors are mistakenly fingered for the killing of a gang leader. Soon they have every gang in the city out to get revenge and they must make their way across the city to their own turf.

Directed by Walter Hill from a screenplay he co-wrote along with David Shaber based on the book by Sol Yurick, THE WARRIORS was produced by Lawrence Gordon and starred Michael Beck, Deborah Van Valkenburgh, James Remar, David Harris, and Tom McKitterick.
