Rosario Dawson’s Daredevil character set for multiple Marvel-Netflix series

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

She may not be Nick Fury, but Claire Temple looks like she is going to be the connective character that holds together Marvel’s Netflix series. Marvel/a> reports that Dawson has struck a deal to return for the second season of Daredevil as well as other upcoming series. Whether that means AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist or all three remains to be seen.

Dawson only appeared in five episodes of Daredevil’s first season. Many critics felt she was underused and seemed to be front-loaded in the first half of the season before disappearing. Her character, Claire Temple, served as a brief love interest for Charlie Cox‘s lead character as well as a medical resource for the ailing superhero. The character was based partially on the Marvel Comics character of Night Nurse who helps injured heroes. She could easily appear in the same capacity on any of the Marvel series on Netflix.

Season two of Daredevil is set to air in 2016 with the main cast all returning. Plot-lines are under wraps but with only AKA Jessica Jones in production at this point and Luke Cage aiming for a premiere next year, we could see each season of Daredevil as an introduction to each additional superhero set for the streaming service, leading up to their team-up in The Defenders mini-series. Here’s hoping all of this is in preparation for the heroes to appear in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.

Daredevil’s first season is now streaming on Netflix.
