For me, the mother of all Frank Miller adaptations was never SIN CITY or 300 (as great as those films turned out to be) but RONIN. It was the book I loved the most next to, maybe, HARD BOILED. I know this isn’t the most popular stance, but it is what it is. So I’m excited to see that Warner Bros. is moving ahead with a RONIN movie. According to IESB, the man to direct the film is the man who directed STOMP THE YARD. Wait… The man to direct RONIN is the man who directed STOMP THE YARD? And I’LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER? Color me quite skeptical but curious still. I don’t know much about White (other than what I read on IMDB and in his interview with The Arrow here) but Warner Bros. seems to respect the Miller fans and is very proud of 300 so here’s hoping they know what they’re talking about. For more, you can check out BlackFilm.com’s recent interview with White where he talks more about directing RONIN.
