As we all eagerly await MGM and Neill Blomkamp's upcoming ROBOCOP RETURNS, we can all get our… wait for it… fill with some new RoBoCop action in… a new series of KFC commercials? Huh. Sure, you know what, why not at this point? This is not a joke. KFC has employed none other than Paul Verhoeven's super f*cking violent 1987 action film ROBOCOP starring Peter Weller to [Mike Myers's voice] sell their tasty chicken.
You can check out the three new KFC commercials featuring the robotic police officer below for proof. After looking through those – the third one is pretty damn funny – make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think of this new ad campaign below!
Based on the screenplay written by Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, it begins:
In a violent, near-apocalyptic Detroit, evil corporation Omni Consumer Products wins a contract from the city government to privatize the police force. To test their crime-eradicating cyborgs, the company leads street cop Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) into an armed confrontation with crime lord Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) so they can use his body to support their untested RoboCop prototype. But when RoboCop learns of the company's nefarious plans, he turns on his masters.
