It's been nearly four years since we lost one of the greatest minds in comedy, and the world just hasn't been quite the same without Robin Williams. The much missed comedian is featured in an upcoming HBO documentary, titled ROBIN WILLIAMS: COME INSIDE MY MIND, which aims to take us through his extraordinary life and career and reveals what drove him to give voice to the characters in his mind. The Marina Zenovich documentary will offer a funny, intimate and heartbreaking portrait of one of the world’s most beloved and inventive comedians told largely by Robin himself, with a wealth of never-before-seen footage, and informed by in-depth interviews with those who loved and knew him such as Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Steve Martin, Pam Dawber, Zak Williams and many others.
"[ROBIN WILLIAMS: COME INTO MY MIND] celebrates what he brought to comedy and to the culture at large, from the wild days of late-1970s L.A. to his death in 2014," the press- release reads. "The documentary underscores what made Williams so unique, ranging from his youthful days in the San Francisco Bay area, to his time in New York at The Juilliard School, to his rocket-propelled fame on TV’s Mork & Mindy, to his profound impact on the American cultural landscape." Our own Chris Bumbray caught the film when it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and judging by his review, you'd better get your Kleenex ready.
ROBIN WILLIAMS: COME INSIDE MY MIND will air on HBO on July 16, 2018.
