Some devastating news to report here, legendary actor Robin Williams has died at 63 years of age. He died this morning and while his publicist wouldn’t confirm the cause of death, they did issue this statement:
“Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”
More details are coming forward including the report that the comedian took his own life. Authorities found an unresponsive William's in his home. Williams went back to rehab last month to focus on his sobriety.
As more details surface tonight and likely throughout the next few weeks about William’s death, I would just like to take a moment to touch on the man’s legacy. I wouldn’t want to leave this post without mentioning the influence he had on my own life. Besides my father, Williams was the next man to make me laugh and make we want to entertain people. I was just talking with a friend this past week about HOOK and how great of a movie that was for Williams. You will have to excuse my tangents here, this doesn't seem real to me at all.
Take a moment with us tonight to reminisce about the great roles of his career and the pleasure we got from watching him. Please share your memories below; I've included some videos as well.
Our thoughts on this very sad day are with his family and friends.
