I'm going to keep this article brief before my emotions get the better of me. For the record, Robin Williams was one of my favorite actors of all-time, and the news of his passing back in 2014 hit me like a ton of bricks. Honestly, I hadn't been that smashed by a celebrity death since John Candy left us in March of 1994. Williams, in addition to starring in such classics as GOOD MORNING VIETNAM, Disney's ALADDIN, and one of my personal favorites, DEATH TO SMOOCHY, was also known as an avid gamer in his spare time. One of the beloved actor's favorite titles was Blizzard's MMORPG title World of Warcraft, though he was also known to spend a great deal of his time collecting rupees and smashing pots in Hyrule while playing Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda. In fact, Williams loved the action-adventure game so much that he named his own daughter after one of the title's main characters, Princess Zelda.
This weekend, Zelda Williams has plans to stream her play session of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation charity via the LVLUP Dojo gaming channel. Along with working her way toward Hyrule castle in effort to slay the evil Calamity Ganon, Zelda Williams will also raise Link's Master Sword in the battle for more cancer research.
You can watch Zelda plays Zelda tomorrow at 12 Pacific Standard Time using the link provided above.
Good luck, Zelda, be sure to save often as Breath of the Wild is quite brutal! One good swat from an unknown enemy and you're toast. I would know, as my Link bit the dust several times during my last play session. Dun nuh nuh nuhhhhhh!
