Robert De Niro is Anne Hathaway’s intern/best friend in The Intern trailer

While it seems like it's been a while since Robert De Niro really brought his A-game, his mere presence always lends a touch of class to whatever film he's in. Warner Bros. have just released a trailer for De Niro's latest, THE INTERN, in which he plays a retired widower who decides to get back into the working game by becoming a senior intern at an online fashion company run by Anne Hathaway's character.

So sit down, hit play, and prepare yourself for an uncharacteristically nice Robert De Niro as he offers sage advice for two and a half minutes; also, there's a boner joke.

THE INTERN plays a little too sugary sweet for my tastes, but you can be sure that there will definitely be an audience for this Nancy Meyers film as this will be the director's first since 2009's IT'S COMPLICATED.  In addition to Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, the film also stars Rene Russo, Anders Holm, Andrew Rannells, Adam Devine, Celia Weston, Nat Wolff, Linda Lavin and Zack Perlman.

The official synopsis:

In “The Intern,” De Niro stars as Ben Whittaker, a 70-year-old widower who has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Hathaway).

It does make me wish that I had Robert De Niro as my intern but…I know I'd be too scared to actually get him to do anything. THE INTERN hits theaters on September 25, 2015.
