Season 8 of The Flash is planning on bringing back a fan favorite. Robbie Amell, who played Ronnie Raymond, aka Firestorm, is returning for a two-episode arc beginning with episode 11.
According to “Entertainment Weekly“, Amell will return as Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm after the “Armageddon” Arrowverse crossover event has wrapped. His two-episode arc begins with episode 11 and exact story details are being kept under wraps regarding exactly how he returns. Amell has expressed in the past that he would be open to returning to The Flash as the character if it “made sense” for everybody and it looks like they found a reason for it to make sense.
Amell began playing Firestorm in the first season of The Flash. The character was involved in a particle accelerator explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs, which merged him with Victor Garber’s Martin Stein. This created the superhero known as Firestorm but the character died in the season finale of season one but appeared once more in the third season of The Flash during the “Into the Speed Force” episode.
Robbie Amell has been pretty busy since his stint on The Flash. Between television and film projects, Amell has appeared as Max in Netflix’s The Babysitter and The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Code 8, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The X-Files, and Amazon’s well-received, Upload. Amell serves as the lead on that series, which is expected to drop its second season later this year or in early 2022. The actor can currently be seen as Chris Redfield in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.
