Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare is set to return for another round of frights, and this time it will be even bigger and badder than ever. Read on for all the goods, there’s a lot to digest!
After closing out its 2013 run in Southern California with a record-breaking night for a stand-alone haunted house event in the United States, Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare–the ultimate Halloween horror event–returns for its second year and will make its debut at WestWorld Of Scottsdale in the Phoenix, Arizona, metro region for select nights from September 19-November 1.
The September 19 opening night will feature a special one-night-only concert with groundbreaking musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie himself.
"The first year was such a blast. I am thrilled to be able to take the Great American Nightmare to a new city this year," said Zombie. "My only goal is to make it even sicker than last year."
Great American Nightmare is a fully immersive haunted house experience featuring three attractions based on Rob Zombie’s own horror films: The Lords of Salem in Total Black Out, Captain Spaulding’s Clown School in 3D, and The Devil’s Rejects.
The shocking–and sometimes disturbing–attractions will offer a three-dimensional experience with animatronics and effects, a maze that is the ultimate definition of claustrophobia and fear, sudden chills and startling thrills, and salacious humor that will make patrons scream with fright and laughter.
At Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare, patrons will sequentially enter three different attractions:
The Lords of Salem in Total Black Out: This harrowing attraction–based on Zombie’s 2012 The Lords of Salem independent horror film–is designed to twist the mind. It will accentuate some senses while limiting others. Fear of the darkness, claustrophobia, and fear of the unknown will be preyed on as visitors attempt to traverse this sixty-degree maze.
Captain Spaulding’s Clown School in 3D: This irreverent school of pure terror is a hallucinogenic trip through the mind of Captain Spaulding (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects). Startle after startle will thoroughly frighten the bravest patrons, who won’t know if they should be laughing, screaming, or crying.
The Devil’s Rejects: The murderous, backwoods Firefly family takes to the road to escape a vengeful police force that isn't afraid of being as ruthless as its target. Guests will become part of the state troopers’ search and destroy mission against the Firefly family, who are wanted for over 75 homicides and disappearances.
In addition, the Great American Nightmare’s Bloody Boulevard will feature freak shows, musical entertainment, roaming characters, themed food and beverages, games, and vendors each night.
Tickets for Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare go on sale Friday, the 13th of June, at 10:00 AM PT at GreatAmericanNightmare.com, with prices starting at only $25 for September 20-November 1. Each ticket includes access to all haunted house attractions and the Bloody Boulevard activities.
