Rob Zombie turning The Haunted World of El Superbeasto into a TV series?

Hidden within a Variety article about Rob Zombie’s Woolite commercial it was revealed that he has proposed a television adaptation of his THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO. The animated feature, which itself is based on Zombie’s comic book series, was released in 2009.

No word on the status of the project, but it sounds like it is merely in the idea stage. The film reportedly did well on DVD, so such a show could work on Starz (who distributed the movie) or some such premium channel that would allow explicit content. Comedy Central, for whom Zombie recently directed a Tom Papa special, is also a viable option.

The film, co-written by Zombie and Tom Papa, features the voices of Tom Papa, Sheri Moon, Paul Giamatti, Geoffrey Lewis, Rob Paulsen, Daniel Roebuck, Brian Posehn, Danny Drejo, Rosario Dawson (below), Clint Howard, Ken Foree, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and more.
