UPDATE: If you're at Comic Con tonight and are ready to go on the hunt for one of Rob Liefeld's DEADPOOL sketches, then HERE'S YOUR CLUE:
Cold Vengeance!!! The first person to enter the establishment and say "Cold Vengeance" will receive the FIRST SKETCH!!!
Comic Con is nearly upon us and while there's a heavy focus on what Hollywood is offering in geek culture, there's also the "comic" aspect of the scene that has built the foundation of it all. For many fans, getting to meet their favorite comic book artists, writers, and creators as well as seeing all the movie-related goods is a huge part of the event and in some instances those worlds collide. Such is the case with Rob Liefeld, father and creator of DEADPOOL, the much-beloved character getting his big-screen, R-rated treatment starring Ryan Reynolds early next year. Liefeld will be attending Comic Con at Artist Alley AA-01, signing at Image Comics throughout the weekend and celebrating DEADPOOL's 24th anniversary, but that's not all. The prolific artist will also be hiding 24 sketches of the signature character around the convention center and surrounding area that could be yours for the taking. Not only that, but JoBlo.com will be providing the very first clue as to where you can find one of the sketches!
Here's what Liefeld had to say about the sketch hunt:
"I'm celebrating the big, huge 24th year that Deadpool is having by hiding 24 Deadpool drawings in all shapes and sizes all over the greater comic-con staging area. This extends from the convention center to the gas lamp district and surrounding restaurants. Also at the various parties I'll be attending. I want to give something back to the tremendous fan following Deadpool has enjoyed since I introduced him in the pages of New Mutants #98!
I'll be posting clues at various websites as well and joblo.com will have the very first clue! Fans looking to track these sketches should follow me on my social networks such as twitter, Instagram and periscope."
So, for those of you making the trek to Comic Con this year and would like to bring home a piece of original art from the creator of DEADPOOL himself, follow us on Twitter (@joblocom) for the first clue (which will debut between July 7th – 8th). You can find clues to the rest of the sketches by following Liefeld on Twitter and Instagram.
Also, look for our coverage at Comic Con next week, which will cover the gamut, including the Fox panel taking place on Saturday, July 11th, which is sure to have some kind of first look at the notorious Merc with a Mouth in action.
DEADPOOL hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
