After hearing word that Marvel is thinking about bringing their Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) character to the MCU, THE NIGHT OF and ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY actor Riz Ahmed wasted no time in tossing his hat into the ring as a writer on the potential project. Along with his offer, Ahmed then tagged A WRINKLE IN TIME actress Mindy Kaling and THE BIG SICK's Kumail Nanjiani onto the deal, which resulted in the character's creator, G. Willow Wilson, becoming very excited about the possibility.
You can check out the series of tweets that led to all the hullabaloo below:
So when do @MarvelStudios want me @mindykaling @kumailn to get started on the MsMarvel screenplay ?

Riz! I am obsessed with this comic book, I’ve read them all. I love Kamala Khan. https://t.co/f3PevhfUzv

Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel burst onto the comic book scene in 2014 courtesy of Marvel editor Sana Amanat, acclaimed writer G. Willow Wilson, and artist Adrian Alphona (who in the past launched THE RUNAWAYS with writer Brian K. Vaughan). She is a Pakinstani-American teenager who is also part-Inhuman and hails from Jersey City. Able to change her size and heal from just about any battle wound, Kamala has been hailed as "Marvel's newest Spider-Man," in regard to the impact she's had on young readers.

P.S. if we bamboozled then into commissioning us we would just hand the pen over to @GWillowWilson on the sly OBVIOUSLY, let her and @MiniB622 call all the shots 👊🏽 https://t.co/tVaKeJeC7i

No no–Sana and I would be HONORED if Riz and Mindy wanted to screenwrite anything involving Ms Marvel. Superheroes are collaborative efforts. They never belong to a single person. Riz would bring experiences+talents to the project that I could not. I would be delighted. https://t.co/mVOtgpJMIz

The whole exchange between the absurdly talented group was sparked by a recent interview with Marvel head honcho, Kevin Feige, who told BBC, “Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”
Mindy! So why don’t you and @GWillowWilson do a #msmarvel jam comicbook? https://t.co/0KdCJojiq0

My friends, I almost can't breathe, right now. I proudly love Kamala Khan, and would jump at the chance to see this collaboration come to fruition. Plus, with Marvel having yet to reveal their plans beyond AVENGERS 4 (officially), there's a chance that this proposed project could actually become a thing! Bring it on, Marvel!
