What did you think of the seventh movie in the live-action Transformers franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts?

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, review

Robots in disguise are invading theaters around the globe, and we want to know what you think about the latest installment of the nostalgia-driven battle for the planet’s fate! Transformers: Rise of the Beasts brings the Autobots, Decepticons, and Maximals to the live-action screen for the first time, making dreams come true for fans of all ages. The seventh installment of the live-action Transformers franchise earned $8.8M in previews from 3,100 locations, with audiences ready to race into theaters throughout the weekend. Can Rise of the Beasts drive past Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse for the number one spot in its second weekend? Both films aim to please similar audiences, so the battle for box office supremacy is on!

In his review of the film, JoBlo’s Eric Walkuski admitted that while the film is a “touch better” than the Micheal Bay movies, it’s still “filled with contrivances and unnecessary clutter.” Still, the film does sound entertaining. “As far as these things go, Rise of the Beasts is not the numbing experience its predecessors were,” Walkuski wrote. “Caple Jr. keeps things moving at a fairly solid pace… What’s encouraging is that the movie takes a little time getting to know its human protagonists, as opposed to instantly throwing us into the clanking, blasting maelstrom of Transformer-on-Transformer violence. That said, there’s plenty of that to be found in the film’s second half, even though at this point if you’ve seen one fight between an Autobot and a Decepticon, you’ve seen them all.”

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ’90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformers – the Maximals – to join them as allies in the existing battle for Earth. The film stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Colman Domingo, Cristo Fernández and Tongayi Chirisa.
